IT Craft is looking for an experienced AI Engineer with a Data Engineering background. German is required for regular project communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop LLM-powered functionality to support the processing of incoming customer requests;
- Prepare information from multiple sources, including emails, documents, PDFs, images, and other unstructured content, so it can be used by AI solutions;
- Implement logic for identifying different request types and selecting the appropriate processing flow;
- Create and refine prompts to achieve more accurate and consistent model results;
- Work with structured LLM responses, model evaluation, and human review where required;
- Apply testing, containerization, and CI/CD practices to support reliable operation of AI components in production;
- Take part in technical design decisions with a focus on scalable and maintainable AI services;
- Evaluate how LLM solutions perform in production and use monitoring and observability practices to identify areas for improvement;
- Work with other engineering teams to connect AI functionality with existing systems and workflows.
Required Skills:
- Strong professional experience developing production applications with Python;
- Practical knowledge of FastAPI and asynchronous Python development;
- Experience implementing LLM-based pipelines for use in real applications and automated workflows;
- Hands-on experience with OpenAI SDK, LangChain, LangGraph, or similar technologies;
- Solid prompt engineering experience, including structured model responses and approaches to evaluating LLM results;
- Solid Data Engineering background with experience working with data pipelines, preprocessing, transformation, and unstructured information;
- Practical experience with PostgreSQL;
- Experience working with REST APIs and/or event-driven APIs;
- Hands-on experience with Docker, automated testing, and CI/CD practices;
- Practical use of AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Codex, Claude Code, or similar tools;
- German at an upper-intermediate level or higher for project communication.
Nice to have:
- Previous experience working on AI solutions designed to scale;
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure;
- Understanding of event-driven system design;
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
